Mass Effect fans are going with physical advertising to try and force the hands of Electronic Arts to bring the series back. Now there's a billboard in Times Square showcasing the hashtag #SaveMassEffect. This is all part of an effort to influence the publisher in regards to the future of the series. If you're a fan of the franchise, this is an organized effort from fans to try and save the IP, which is worth taking note of.
Fans organize physical ads in New York, Redwood City, and Los Angeles to urge EA to revive the franchise
This effort is being spearheaded by the community known as 'We Are Mass Effect' and blogger Kala Elizabeth. The billboard in Times Square shows off the hashtag along with 'Keelah Si'yah' which is a reference to the in-game ship that carried species to the Andromeda system to explore it. This is a visual way of putting out this message to fans and industry folks in New York.
Of course, there are more promotions that fans are planning to try and keep this effort going. There will be ad trucks driving around the Electronic Arts HQ locations in Redwood City and Edmonton. There will also be a mobile billboard for the N7 Day festivities.
Plus, another billboard will show up in Los Angeles for The Game Awards. These are all ways to try and push the campaign further than just the billboard in Times Square.
