He argues that higher base prices may become necessary to sustain game development amid rising costs. This perspective matters to players who may soon face increased costs for major titles.

Warhorse Studios co-founder argues higher game prices are necessary to sustain development amid rising costs

Klima made these comments while discussing the broader economic pressures facing game developers. He noted that while price increases might help keep the industry alive, many publishers remain hesitant to raise costs. Rockstar Games has already confirmed the base price for Grand Theft Auto VI at $79.99.

The developer suggested that rising game prices may be necessary to sustain the industry amid increasing development costs. Larian Games' Michael Douse previously suggested that the industry is waiting for GTA 6 to raise price expectations. Klima echoed this sentiment, hoping GTA 6 will blaze the trail for higher costs.

Despite supporting higher prices for the industry, Klima admitted he will not play Grand Theft Auto VI. He stated he does not understand the game's popularity and would only play it if forced. The developer admitted that he does not intend to play the game personally, despite acknowledging its commercial success.
