Embark Studios released the Riven Tides Update for ARC Raiders on April 28. This major patch introduces the new Riven Tides map to the game. The update also adds an exclusive minor map condition called Beachcombing. Players can now utilize a new ARC device named the ARC Turbine within this environment.
The update brings general performance improvements to the game engine. These changes specifically reduce rubber-banding when players reach the edge of the playable area. Embark Studios also updated the Intel XeSS SDK to version 3.0.0 to support these enhancements. The studio addressed weapon economy balance issues in the patch notes.
New map Riven Tides arrives with exclusive Beachcombing condition and performance improvements.
Developers noted that the weapon economy had become unbalanced for heavy player-versus-player engagement. High-tier weapons previously suffered from expensive maintenance compared to lower-tier options. The studio adjusted durability loss per shot to give high-tier weapons more longevity. They also reduced the presence of Comets and Fireflies in beginner sessions to lower difficulty.
The Bettina weapon received a buff to align its power with its rarity tier. The base damage and damage against ARC armor increased to provide better value per bullet. The studio simultaneously reduced the base fire-rate to maintain balance. These changes aim to correct the chronic accumulation of weapons among friendly players.
A limited-time event called Last Resort accompanies the update. The event runs from April 28 through May 25. The Riven Tides Update 1.26.0 is available globally later today. Players can immediately access the new map and balance changes upon release.
