Microsoft has extended the date for Arkane Lyon to find a buyer/partnership by another month, extending the date beyond the previously set one of November 13. This is important because if they fail to find a deal, the studio is slated to close immediately. And this has an obvious effect on the production of Marvel's Blade. This extension gives potential buyers just enough time to strike a deal before the studio possibly closes.

Microsoft extends Arkane Lyon deadline to December 13 to protect Marvel's Blade and 200 jobs
Arkane Lyon is one of the development studios for Microsoft gaming. They are by law forced to give this extension due to the French laws. The Florange law forces companies with more than 1000 employees to grant this extension. Microsoft has to comply with the law as it searches for a new owner.
Arkane Lyon currently is in charge of completing Marvel's Blade's development. This is their main technical task to complete during this extension. The job security of more than 200 people lies in this search for a buyer by Microsoft. Arkane Lyon's future job security is entirely tied to the success of this search for a new owner.
This comes after previous news of Arkane Studios possibly closing on November 13. We briefly mentioned Arkane Studios faces closure by November in our last Microsoft write up. Now the date has been extended and that means more uncertainty for both employees and the gaming community. What happens now will dictate if the studio continues with a new owner or if they will close permanently.
