Mass Effect fans are calling for change. Fans are urging Pocketpair to buy the Mass Effect IP from EA. This is important as it shows that there's a growing worry about what the future holds for BioWare's flagship IP. Fans are hoping for reassurance that Pocketpair could potentially save BioWare's flagship IP as they're the team behind Palworld.

Pocketpair head notes high prices and reluctance from IP owners

Fans are rallying around Pocketpair, the team behind the hit Palworld. Pocketpair's Head of Communications, Jon Buckley, commented on the rising interest surrounding Pocketpair. Buckley has stated that yes these are real requests. There's been a lot of requests coming in to them.

Buckley has shared that he's received close to 30 direct messages and emails for them to acquire the Mass Effect franchise within a 24hr time frame. Buckley has mentioned that acquiring franchise titles is tricky. Owners are reluctant and ask for high prices. Despite these challenges, the number of requests shows that people want the franchise to continue.

Buckley's social media post has shown that fans have been coming to them and sharing messages such as "You should buy this franchise!" with Pocketpair. Buckley has jokingly mentioned that Pocketpair would probably want to acquire Jade Empire instead. Another BioWare IP that's missing the sequel. This highlights the fun aspect to this all as well as showing the difficulty in acquiring these rights.

We've been following Mass Effect closely and have previously covered Mass Effect fans launch petition to save the franchise as BioWare closure worries start. This new request adds another layer to the discussion on the future of Mass Effect. We'll see how Pocketpair's response to these requests might affect how fans engage in the future.

At this point, it's still a fan-driven campaign. We don't have official word from EA or Pocketpair. We've got Buckley's comments which gives us a factual look into how things are and the complexities of acquiring anything. This ends on the note that yes, there's a big desire but the way to acquiring it's not clear.
