The 2006 shooter BLACK has been fan-ported to run on Android. This brings the classic PC and Xbox title to the mobile space. After nearly 20 years of absence on mobile, BLACK is finally available for modern phone play. There's no need for emulation hardware to enjoy the original game on mobile.
Fan-made port brings Criterion Games shooter to mobile with full hardware support
BLACK was developed by Criterion Games for PC and Xbox. This new Android version is an unofficial port by RanggaCasper. It's the original Xbox version, not the PC remaster. This means it has been ported to a modern mobile platform that did not exist when the game was released.
Android 10 or higher is required for the port to work correctly. You'll need a 64-bit ARM processor and at least 4GB of RAM. You'll also need Vulkan 1.1 support for rendering graphics. These specs ensure smooth gameplay on modern phones and tablets.
The most recent 1.5.0 update fixed graphic effects problems on Mali graphics chip devices. You can play with touch controls with custom button placement. Or try gyroscope aiming for increased precision. Full gamepad vibration, keyboard and mouse input is supported.
This is the latest in a line of community preservation efforts for older shooter titles. We saw many similar balance and stability topics in our last update for BLACK. The difference here is the added input options compared to past attempts. Now mobile players can download and play the game if they have compatible hardware.
