put out an update for Team Fortress 2 that focuses on zombie mode balance and critical stability issues with servers. Old machines will be feeling instant gains in visual clarity and UI readability. This patch fixes longstanding bugs that broke gameplay and server availability.

Zombie mode balance shifts and critical stability fixes land in latest patch

Several zombie mode maps have been tweaked, such as zi_atoll, zi_blazehattan, and zi_woods. Valve has changed how characters operate to influence player interaction with enemies on these maps. Zombie mode changes aim to give gameplay more of a dynamic feel with less consistency.

Zombie Pyro characters now do more damage with melee to players. The Zombie Sniper's spit ability has had a few seconds knocked off of it's cooldown. Valve also fixed the issue of models disappearing when DirectX 8 was in use. Spawn menu now properly shows the Healing ability icon and Auto-respawn text.

A bug that would cause server crashes with the Dragon's Fury ability vulnerability has been fixed. For the cp_holyhell map, draws are prevented by changing spell frequency after 5 minutes of center capture. Spells will be rare in frequency. They'll have more commonality if center capture isn't achieved within that 5 minute time.

These changes come after previous patches to Team Fortress 2. Team Fortress 2 had previous patches that shared similar ideas of balance and stability. Valve is still working on tweaking older game modes with no new content being added. The update is live right now for all players on .
