SnowX announces their desktop metal 3D printer called SnowPod. Bringing Industrial Selective Laser Melting right to small shops. Why is this important?

SnowX introduces a compact desktop metal 3D printer
This is breaking down barriers for metal printing. Putting powder and nitrogen on your desk safely in a sealed system. Buyers who need metal parts that are accurate but don't have a floor in an industrial shop now have access.
Specifications
- Build Volume: 80 x 80 x 100 mm
- Laser Power: 200 W fiber laser
- Layer Thickness: 30–60 µm
- Z-axis Precision: 3 µm
- Dimensional Accuracy: ±0.05 mm
The SnowPod is described as their "small selective laser melting". For people who want to make accurate things with less size. This printer is included with SnowPath slicing software.
It also has support for breakaway structures for easy post processing. The SnowPod is in a case that is 360x360x660 mm. It weighs 40 kg.
Tech Specs include a 200W fiber laser. Build volume 80x80x100 mm. They also list 3 micron Z axis precision.
This printer has a dimensional accuracy of about + – 0.05 mm. You can adjust the layer height from 30-60 microns for fine metal printing.
SnowX lists the printing speed as about 1 cm / hour of height build. There's over 90% powder recovery. Initially the printer supports 316L SS.
There's plans for copper alloy support in the future. There's also plans to post more info about safety of nickel content once more testing is done.
The Kickstarter price for SnowPod printer kit is $5299. It's also $5899 for SnowPod and NitroPod (nitrogen). VIP pricing goes down to $4999.
