Zortos293 launched a new emulator fork of the Eglantine Nintendo Switch 2 emulator called Lichii that finally brings Star Fox Remake to PC hardware. This is important since the previous emulator version only showed black screens, so you couldn't enjoy the game. Check out the official GitHub releases page to download the software.
Lichii emulator fork enables Star Fox Remake graphics on PC
Lichii is a direct continuation of the Eglantine emulator codebase. Its purpose is to run Nintendo Switch 2 software. Lichii fixes the rendering issues that caused the Star Fox Remake game to not launch at all. The developer introduced the fixes to make sure the game renders graphics properly and doesn't just not display anything.
As the developer tested the game on an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, the game runs at a solid 30 FPS. The emulator introduced the DLSS (with NVIDIA Streamline support) to fix smearing and geometry problems. There's also H.264 video playback improvements and ULDC.U16 shader support.
Previously, we've covered the Nintendo Switch 2 Star Fox Update while keeping an eye on Zortos293 launches. The initial launch added split-screen 4-player support for the game. Now, with the new emulator fork, you can play this updated version on PC without any graphic issues.
So the Star Fox Remake finally renders without black screens and graphic issues at 30 FPS on PC. This means that the Lichii emulator fork successfully connects the unreleased console and PC emulation. So if you want to give the game a try, you can grab the latest build from GitHub.
