Early November marked the launch of the new Genshin Impact 7.2. This new major patch brings all new content and technical changes that will be important for PS5 and PC players. The new major patch (Hour of Ruin) adds new characters and new quests to the game.
New patch brings Mitya and Valery to the game
But at the same time, it's optimizing the gaming experience for certain hardware. For example, DualSense controller owners will immediately feel the difference in how their firearms behave in battle.
miHoYo released the new major patch in order to add new story arcs and characters into the game. The story in the game is getting bigger with Volume VII Chapter V (Hour of Ruin) and VI chapter (Yesterday from the Other Shore). Thanks to the new patch, you're now able to add the new characters to your roster. These are 5 star Electro Catalyst character Mitya and 4 star Electro Sword character Valery.
Besides new characters and new story, this major patch takes care of localization and controller issues. miHoYo has improved the quality of Russian localization texts. The developers claim that all these changes didn't have any effect on the functions of the game. In terms of technical updates, the new major patch introduces adaptive trigger support for firearms. These are DualSense controllers on PS5 and PC.
As you might guess, this new major patch follows the same path as its predecessors, which were mainly centered around character balance and stability. You've probably seen some of these themes revolving around character balance and stability in the last update of Genshin Impact that we covered. So here we are with the new version of the game. It's incorporating new characters into the meta and also fixing small localization issues.
The new 7.2 patch is now live for everyone. It brings all new story content and 2 new characters to the game. There are also some certain hardware updates for PlayStation and PC players. These changes are live now and you can play them immediately.
