In the next Lords of the Fallen II, CI Games are making changes to combat to provide more tactical opportunities for players to take advantage of in all situations. This is important because this will ultimately shape how you take on enemies and will help break up the monotony. So now we are starting to see a better way for players to enjoy different playstyles through preparation and flexibility.
CI Games reveals combat overhaul details for the upcoming sequel
Nearly 30 new weapon movesets are planned for Lords of the Fallen II, which will bring twice the number of unique attacks to each of these weapon types. So now this added variety makes it so that the change in weapon usage is more meaningful than incremental. So now players can have more offensive options to counter different enemies.
Magic gameplay gets a new stance in play to help provide melee fluidity and magic use. So, for magic users, you'll be able to cast up to four spells from a single catalyst. But also have up to four more from an additional catalyst.
So now you can have up to eight spells equipped. Additionally, there are seven different schools of magic to use so you can have more options when creating your build.
The game will change how you manage mana as you can restore mana through the Sanguinarix system without having to consume anything. Additionally, now ranged weapon use will be more viable as you'll have infinite basic ammo. So there will be other more powerful projectiles that you can restore in certain parts of the world so you can have less to worry about in your inventory while exploring.
As we discussed with the last Lords of the Fallen II update, there were a lot of similar balance and stability talking points. So this dev diary we are able to see that they are making adjustments to deal with this and with fundamental changes to their system. At the end of the day, it's about improving the player experience before Q1 2027.

Doubling movesets is a solid pivot from the original’s sparse arsenal. It should finally make the combat feel weightier.
With infinite basic ammo for ranged weapons, does the game still require you to manage inventory space for potions or key items? I want to know if the backpack feels cluttered.
The article mentions mana is restored via Sanguinarix without consumables. So inventory management likely shifts to spell catalysts and weapon upgrades rather than generic loot.
infinite ammo sounds boring tbh. I prefer games where you have to scavenge for arrows or bolts. it creates tension.
