The Coalition dropped the October 26th update for Gears of War: E-Day on PC, Xbox, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and handhelds. Some stability improvements and some limited-time Halloween goodness for all players on supported platforms. Be sure to look for the update, if you've already purchased the game. That includes new Versus Trick or Treat and Horde Siege modes.
The Coalition releases patch with ranked timeout and Halloween modes
This patch will help with performance and crash improvements on PC, Xbox and handhelds. The Coalition fixed an issue with characters T-posing when aiming down sights after blind firing from Gnasher medium cover. This patch fixes the default behavior in Xbox Cloud Gaming to prefer Performance over Quality.
The Coalition also fixed a few glitches in campaign and multiplayer. No more camera detachment when getting to a construction site corner in campaign. Train cars stay on the rails during secondary campaign objectives. 2 minutes are now waiting after a player disconnects instead of 1 minute for ranked matches. Demolition bomb more accessible in more areas of maps.
A known exploit for seeing through Smoke Grenades in Versus is being addressed with a hotfix. Players can see through Smoke Grenades in Versus mode. We've been taking enforcement actions against users using this exploit and aimbots. We're aware and investigating reports of some folks still freezing/crashing during long play sessions.
It's Halloween in E-Day with some limited time modes and missions for getting rewards. Put a pumpkin head on and fight for the Jack-o-Cannon in Versus Trick or Treat mode. The Boogeyman and his cadre of glowing gourd goons in Horde Siege mode. Remember the last time we updated Gears of War: E-Day and some of these balance/stability themes came up?
