We’re getting the first peek at Vivo’s smartphone refresh for the middle of the year. While it’s a mid-year refresh we’re getting the first peek. And it’s important because it may mean a big step up in display quality for those who care about crisp clear and smooth displays. Seems like a big step up in screen space and refresh rates than the standard model.
Engineering sample shows larger flat screen with higher refresh rate than current Vivo X500
Engineering sample of Vivo X500s We’ve gotten the engineering sample of Vivo X500s, next “S” model. That’s how it works for Vivo. They release upgraded versions in between big releases in a year.
Vivo X500s Display Specs
- Display Size: 6.85-inch
- Display Resolution: 2K+
- Refresh Rate: 144Hz
- Panel Type: Quad-sided flat
So here’s our comparison. The current Vivo X500 is our baseline. And that makes the Vivo X500s a logical upgrade path for Vivo users.
So this engineering sample has a 6.85” display with 2K+ resolution. And a 144hz refresh rate. It’s quad-sided flat.
So it’s all modern and sleek. No curves. Those are common.
But this is bigger than current Vivo X500’s 6.59” display. And it’s the same size as the previous Vivo X300s.
We don’t know anything for sure about the chipset. Or camera sensors. Or battery capacity.
Or launch price. That’s all for now. This information comes from prolific tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS).
He posted these details based on the engineering sample. Of course, since it’s in engineering phase things may change before we get the actual product out in the wild.
We don’t know when exactly it will launch. But if it’s spring then it would match up with the previous model X300s. We’ve written about Vivo flagships in the past like this.
For example OnePlus 15 vs Vivo X300 E. Just to show their place in the high-end. For now. Till we get any confirmation from Vivo on the X500s.
These details are just that. Unconfirmed.
