Apex Legends received its mid-season update 3.20 on September 15, reshaping the competitive landscape for players who rely on legend abilities and audio cues. Respawn Entertainment released this patch to address balance concerns and improve the readability of key skills, ensuring that matches remain fair and skill-based. The changes directly impact how players engage in combat, particularly for those who main Conduit, Fuse, or Catalyst.

Patch 3.20 introduces new Fuse abilities and tightens Axle stun duration
The update targets specific legend kits to refine their utility in team fights. Conduit received buffs to her Tactical ability, which now includes preview visuals, and her Ultimate, which deploys faster with tighter jammer formations. Respawn Entertainment stated in a dev note that their main goal is to give Conduit players more avenues for skill expression and to ensure her abilities feel functional, readable, and fluid. These adjustments aim to make her control mechanics more intuitive for both new and veteran users.
Fuse underwent significant kit changes, adding Knuckle Jump to his base kit and integrating Wreckless and Knuckle Cluster with specific nerfs. He also gained new Level 3 upgrades, including Big Bang and Sticky Bomb, expanding his strategic options. Catalyst saw her Tactical cooldown drop from 20 seconds to 15 seconds, and her Ultimate firing time decreased. She also received a new Level 3 upgrade called Ferro-Frenzy. Bloodhound’s Tactical sonar snapshots now fade more quickly and disappear when tracking a player's head, altering tracking dynamics.
Other legends faced targeted nerfs to maintain balance. Axle’s Tactical launch speed and Ultimate HP were reduced, and his stun duration dropped from 1.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds. Seer’s Tactical ability no longer applies a turn slow to enemies. Loot spawning adjustments increased healing items and slightly decreased ammo, while bin resets now contain more items. The Weapon Assist feature now includes all base weapons. Respawn also added a new audio menu option to toggle weapon dialogue for Cyberpunk collaboration skins, addressing player feedback on audio clutter.
We looked at the last Apex Legends update earlier while tracking balance shifts, and several of the same stability themes reappear here. The patch includes over 150 map quality-of-life fixes, particularly for World's Edge, and resolves audio issues in Olympus and E-District interiors. Triple Take rate of fire increased in ADS, and the Bocek Compound Bow arrow stockpile grew. The Executioner hop-up unlock cost reduced from 375 to 275. The Agile Standard Stock movement speed buff no longer stacks with specific passive combinations. This update delivers concrete balance tweaks and quality-of-life improvements for the current season.
