Apex Legends Season 31: Cipher is live. This season is an immediate shift in ranked and weapon balance across the board for all Diamond players. We have legend banning and a new akimbo sidearm for weapon balance that pushes players to more aggressive up close combat. Players that use the normal Wingman will have to rebalance their loadouts to counter the double power.
Cipher update introduces Akimbo Wingman and ranked changes
Patch version 3.23 | 1.000.138 is out. This includes adding Strongholds to the map. New areas with dynamic cover and loot drops to change the way squads engage in high traffic zones. The Stronghold idea promotes active combat rather than static.
We are seeing some big changes in ranked play with the addition of Legend Banning in Diamond+ matches. Ranked games for Diamond+ now have a legend banning round to the match. Additionally, there are some changes to wide skill match scoring to better accommodate team performance at different skill levels.
New weapon Akimbo Wingman added. We have double the magazine size with changes to damage/recoil. Respawn says this bad boy is a bad dude up close and mid range. Leaves the legends in the dust.
Oh, and it looks like disk usage has decreased overall by about 30 GB for most platforms vs S29.0. Saves on some space.
