TBS and Shiftall announce Homra 4K. A small form factor device with everything you need for a full-fledged streaming studio mounted on a camera. This is important as it makes it possible for broadcasters to manage multi-source streaming and recording on a local scale, without needing bulky external encoders. They're still working on it before its release in March 2027.
Compact device supports four simultaneous streams and local 4K recording
Homra 4K is an all-in-one production switchboard. It can switch up to 4 different video sources. The user has the option to choose input from HDMI, SDI, USB video or even files on an SD card. The benefit here is that users can mix live camera footage with other types of content, like a pre-recorded video or even USB video sources.
Specifications
- Dimensions: 91 x 44 x 119mm
- HDMI Input/Output: 4K/60fps
- SDI Input: 1080p/60fps
- Simultaneous Streams: 4
- Local Recording: 4K/60fps
Homra 4K supports HDMI In and Out with 4K (60fps) capabilities. It also supports 3G-SDI (max. 1080p/60fps) input for traditional broadcast. It's equipped with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports for network traffic. It also uses USB-C PD for connections.
Homra 4K is compatible with Live Multi Studio (LMS) protocol, which Shiftall claims has a low-latency (<100ms). It can stream up to 4 at the same time while capturing 4K/60fps locally. It also has a 2-inch screen for monitoring when setting it up or on the field.
Homra 4K costs roughly 100,000 JPY (~$634) in Japan and $630 worldwide. It will be available in March 2027. The cost is quite accessible for independent creators or small production teams that need a portable 4K streaming solution.
