Battlestate Games splits promo codes for PvP and PvE in Escape from Tarkov, reinforcing the game's competitive core with distinct rewards for each mode.

For BattleState Games, it's important to draw a clear line between player vs. player and player vs. environment game modes for Escape from Tarkov. So they're breaking out the promo rewards for it and making it plain that way. Clearly they want to make a point about the difference between the different game modes.

Battlestate Games issues distinct rewards to reinforce the game's competitive identity

Both buyers and players should be aware that now it's all strictly partitioned. In other words, you can't get PvP stuff for PvE or vice versa. BattleState Games is sending a message about the fundamental nature of the game with these gifts.

They've released two special promo codes in November 2024, in fact, to make the distinction. One of them's aimed at all the hardcore PvP players and the other one is more for the chill PvE scene. The studio head Nikita Buyanov pointed out that PvP has always been and always will be the focus of the game. PvE is a less stressful component for you to enjoy on top of the main game, which is why the differences between rewards are so large.

So for PvP players, the promo code they can use is EMBRACEPAIN, which will give them certain in-game medical supplies. Specifically, the regenerative stimulant, Propital. Also the hemostatic drug Zagustin.

That translates from English as "accept pain." "Embrace pain," right? It's a tough world out there. For PvE players, it's a different kind of rewards with the promo code PLAYYOURWAY. For instance, you're getting a set of figurines.

At the moment, most of the player base is in the PvE Zone (data from the community). Next is regular PvE and then seasonal PvP. Nevertheless, the studio is strongly promoting PvP as the core aspect of the game.

We touched on a lot of the same balance and stability stuff last time we talked about the Escape from Tarkov update. They're steadfast in their commitment to the competitive aspect but also giving the PvE side some incentives, though they're different, of course.

Nikita is drawing a line in the sand. The PvP rewards are medical supplies. The PvE rewards are plastic. That is the hierarchy. We all know this already. Just another reminder.

Is the figurine set actually useful for display purposes or just digital clutter? I play mostly in the PvE zone so I want to know if the code works for regular users too. Thanks.

The code PLAYYOURWAY grants the figurines. It applies to your account regardless of current mode. You can view them in your stash. It is not clutter. It is a collectible item.

Giving stimulant drugs to PvP players is not a big deal. Propital is common. It feels like they are trying to make the hardcore rewards feel more significant than they are. The distinction is artificial.
