Respawn Entertainment just pushed the 'Marked' seasonal update to Apex Legends, and the changes hit ranked play and loot distribution hard. Players who grind for Legend Rank will see their weekly windows extend from short rotations to a full five days, giving them more time to climb. The update also strips away the previous gold-tier loot system, making high-end gear significantly harder to find.

Five-day ranked windows and a new Bloodhound ultimate reshape the meta
The update arrives as patch 3.17/1.000.131 and introduces a major rework for Bloodhound. Respawn has unleashed the latest seasonal content drop for Apex Legends and it’s called “Marked.” This rework replaces Bloodhound’s old toolkit with a new Ultimate ability called Allfather’s Cloak, which fundamentally shifts how the Legend scouts and survives. The team also adjusted several other Legends to balance the new meta.
Technical changes dominate the patch notes with a complete overhaul of weapon mechanics and attachments. Energy weapons no longer consume a separate energy ammo pool; instead, they regenerate ammo over time using individual stockpiles. Respawn also introduced five new Corrupted Attachments, including the Overflowing Magazine and Headseeker Barrel, which offer powerful bonuses paired with significant drawbacks.
The World's Edge map received structural changes with new Points of Interest like the Sorting Factory and Tree Settlement. Loot vaults have been improved, but the overall density of high-tier loot has dropped after removing Gold Attachments and Gold Backpacks. Ranked Ladders now last five days, and specific weapons like the G7 Scout have returned to floor loot while the 30-30 Repeater entered Care Packages with buffs.
We looked at the last Apex Legends update earlier while tracking balance changes, and several of the same stability themes appear here. This patch forces players to adapt to a slower, more deliberate loot cycle and new Legend abilities. The five-day ranked window provides a clearer path for competitive players to test their skills against the updated meta.
