European Commission director Giuseppe Abbamonte pledged to examine copyright regulations in response to the presentation. The Commission is expected to deliver a formal response by July 2025.

Ross Scott, a representative of the initiative, described the outcome as close to a perfect result. However, Moritz Katzner offered a more measured view, noting that there is still a long road ahead before any of this translates into real policy.

The initiative aims to address the issue of publishers rendering games unplayable after ending support. The European Parliament's support marks a significant step, but concrete policy changes remain uncertain.
