Here's a community mod for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition by BioWare that brings back the original multiplayer mode that was left out of the remaster. Now, fans will be able to go back and experience the co-op shooter aspects of the game again without needing to have the original release from 2012. It's definitely a nice addition that brings a big chunk of the game's history back into play for fans who were missing those aspects in the initial release.
Community mod restores Mass Effect 3 co-op mode with upgraded visuals and full roster
The multiplayer system in the game has been incorporated into the Legendary Edition itself thanks to the user PayDay. The mod allows players to get into games and experience the same things that they would have when playing the original game online. This is almost like a bridge between the remastered versions of the single-player campaigns and the more dormant multiplayer aspects of the game.
It's got all the things you'd expect, too. There are all 66 playable characters from the original game. There are 19 maps and you'll have four different enemy factions to deal with.
These include Cerberus, Geth, Reapers, and Collectors. There are also four difficulties, going from Bronze to Platinum. So, you'll have complete control over the challenge you want.
The mod features improved visuals. The textures used are the higher quality textures from the Legendary Edition. It also upscales textures from the original version from 2012 to fit with the higher resolution game. You'll get better, cleaner graphics that look much nicer than the original multiplayer release.
There's also text chat and voice chat, so you can communicate a little better in games. There are lobby kicks votes as well as idle removal for the game. There are also store systems, reward packs, and leaderboards. It's got everything you'd want for progression and competitiveness from the original.
