Xiaomi Mijia Triple-Tube Washer Launches with 14kg Capacity for $744

Xiaomi is changing how large households handle laundry by introducing a machine that splits loads across three separate drums. The three-drum layout allows users to wash bulky items like comforters in the 11kg main drum while simultaneously cleaning delicate fabrics or small items in the two 1.5kg side drums. The independent drum system enables the simultaneous processing of different fabric types, eliminating the need to wait for one load to complete before starting another.

Three-drum design splits laundry loads with AI controls

The Mijia Triple-Tube Washing Machine 14kg series features a unique three-drum layout. The large central drum handles 11kg of laundry, while two smaller drums on the side each accommodate 1.5kg. The triple-drum configuration supports the simultaneous washing of different garment types, which reduces the total time required to complete a household laundry cycle.

The washer-dryer variant offers a total drying capacity of 9kg, with the main drum handling 7kg and each side drum managing 1kg.

Xiaomi integrated the AI Mijia Lingyun system, which uses the MiMo large model to interpret voice and text commands for wash settings. The machine claims to provide up to 10 days of antibacterial protection inside the drums through cold-water sterilization. This feature aims to maintain hygiene in the drum even when the machine is not in active use.

Pricing for the series starts at 3,999 yuan (around $595) for the front-loading washing machine. The washer-dryer version is priced at 4,999 yuan (around $744). Pre-orders are now open in China, though Xiaomi has not yet announced when deliveries will begin.

The new Mijia series expands Xiaomi's home appliance lineup with a focus on multi-load efficiency and AI integration. The triple-drum design separates laundry types while fitting into a footprint comparable to standard single-drum machines of similar total capacity.
