Shagg88 has taken the COGBox project further by bringing three classic Xbox 360 games to modern PCs. This is important because it lifts the original 30 fps limit on the games and affects the gameplay experience on the original platform. Now you can play Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment with uncapped framerate and less input lag.
Unofficial ports lift framerate limits and add modern upscaling to classic Xbox 360 titles
COGBox is not a commercial product. It's more of an unofficial tool for recompilation. With the tool, you can play the games with Direct3D 12.
Vulkan is also supported, although it's in experimental mode. COGBox is able to render games in up to 5K resolution and it supports modern upscaling solutions such as NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS.
In addition to classic gameplay, COGBox adds features that the original console games don't have. COGBox includes NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 to help with input lag. It can also render games in HDR10, if your display is compatible.
Split screen play is supported in local mode (Gears of War 2). You can use mods.
Keep in mind that this is not a standalone product. You have to feed it your own assets, like disc images. The package doesn't include in-game assets.
Controllers are supported. Both Xbox and PS controllers. This unofficial port allows PC gamers to experience these legacy games with modern performance expectations.

Does the 5K upscaling work well with the original Xbox 360 textures or does it just blur everything?
It handles the upscaling via DLSS and FSR so the image stays relatively sharp compared to simple bilinear filtering on the original hardware.
