Xiaomi is soon going to release the 18 Pro & 18 Pro Max in Europe at a price that's a lot higher than the previous generation. The increase is substantial for people willing to move up from Xiaomi 17 series. You can prepare yourself for a 400 – 500 euros premium price increase. This is a major change in Xiaomi flagship price strategy in Europe.
New leak reveals European pricing and battery specs for the upcoming flagship models
We have the standard 18 Pro and a bigger 18 Pro Max (potentially taking the place of Xiaomi 18 Ultra that apparently didn't make it). These are both high end smartphones, with a high end spec list designed for Europe. 18 Pro / 18 Pro Max is all about big battery and fast charging. Gone is the Ultra level that was promised before.
Spec comparison
| Spec | Xiaomi 18 Pro | Xiaomi 18 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 6,000mAh | 7,050mAh |
| Wired Charging | 90W | 100W |
| Weight | 199g | 231g |
| Starting Price (12GB/256GB) | €1,399 | €1,599 |
Xiaomi 18 Pro offers a 6,000mAh battery. With 90W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone weighs 199 grams. It starts at 1,399 euros (12GB RAM, 256GB storage).
Then there's 18 Pro Max with a 7,050mAh battery. 100W fast wired charging. The phone weighs 231 grams.
Both phones support 50W wireless charging, so it's easy to fill up the batteries with it. Xiaomi 18 Pro Max starts at 1,599 euros (12GB/256GB) and goes all the way to 1,799 euros (12GB/512GB). So the price is around 50 euros cheaper than earlier reported numbers from France, but still expensive for 18 Pro Max and it's not cheap compared to Xiaomi 17 series either.
Please note, the European versions have smaller batteries than their Chinese version. This could be for regional reasons or different design decisions.
We've been following the Xiaomi 18 Pro for some time now, including for example the report about the dimmer display and worse viewing angles compared to Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The pricing here shows that Xiaomi aims to compete in a premium smartphone market. This pricing will probably make buyers consider the upgrades vs the price of the devices.
