GAME PERFORMANCE

Red Magic's latest flagship gaming phone got an upgrade with a new processor and a big battery boost that can mean more playtime for mobile gamers. The Red Magic 12 Pro+ upgrades from the previous gen with a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. It also gets a new Red Core R5 co-processor.

New 2nm processor and 8,400mAh battery boost gaming performance

That's a hardware upgrade that also brings a bigger AnTuTu benchmark score of 5.67M compared to the previous 11 Pro+ score of 4.35M. That's an upgrade that's directly relevant to users looking for more raw processing power and more battery time between charges.

Key Specifications

  • Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (2nm)
  • Co-processor: Red Core R5
  • AnTuTu Score: 5.67 million
  • Display Size: 6.85-inch
  • Refresh Rate: 185Hz

The new Red Magic 12 Pro+ is anchored by its 6.85-inch 1.5K OLED display that now offers a 185Hz native refresh rate. That's a big step-up from the previous gen's 144Hz refresh rate panel. Red Magic also reduced the screen bezels down to just 0.96mm for a more immersive display experience. There's also a new hardware architecture that uses the main Snapdragon processor and the new Red Core R5 co-processor to handle background processing and gaming optimizations.

Engineering upgrades let Red Magic fit a massive 8,400mAh battery into a thinner and lighter form factor than the previous gen. The 12 Pro+ is now only 8.55mm thick and weighs 223g. That's a huge difference compared to the bulkier and heavier 11 Pro+.

Red Magic also improved the cooling system with a 25,500 RPM fan and dual crystal micro-pump that help with heat dissipation for intense sessions. That ensures performance stays optimized without dealing with heat throttling.

Red Magic says that the 12 Pro+ can run demanding PC ports like Tomb Raider 9 at 60 FPS and still do full-scene ray-tracing. It also comes with 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging to quickly top-up the huge battery. It starts at 6999 YUAN ($1046) in China. That's more than the 5699 YUAN ($852) launch price of the 11 Pro+.

The Red Magic 12 Pro+ will be available in China on October 15, 2026. It will likely cost about $1,048 globally. That's a premium price that offers a device for those looking to spend more on the latest 2nm silicon and that bigger battery. Higher refresh rates, better cooling, and faster charging are the core value propositions for this gen.
