The Umamusume franchise is taking a sharp turn from the racetrack to the screen for the 2026 MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix. This partnership brings the popular horse-girl characters directly into the world of professional motorcycle racing. Fans of the series will see their favorite characters integrated into a major international sporting event. The partnership demonstrates the increasing integration of anime intellectual property into international motorsports marketing.
Cygames brings eight characters to Mobility Resort Motegi for the October event
Cygames, the developer behind the Umamusume title, has confirmed this official event partnership. The integration focuses on visual presence and ceremonial roles rather than gameplay changes. The event targets the Japanese market specifically, aligning with the franchise's primary demographic. This initiative aims to expand brand visibility through physical presence alongside digital channels.
A massive 508-foot (155m) display will dominate the view near Turn 4 at Mobility Resort Motegi. The screen will showcase eight distinct characters from the Umamusume roster. The featured cast includes Vodka, Daiwa Scarlet, Oguri Cap, Tamamo Cross, Jungle Pocket, Agnes Tachyon, Almond Eye, and Lucky Lilac. This installation remains in place until November 8, 2026, ensuring prolonged exposure to race attendees.
Ceremonial duties extend beyond the screen with live appearances by voice talent. Tomoyo Takayanagi, the voice actor for Oguri Cap, will wave the checkered flag for Moto3 and Moto2 races. These appearances are scheduled for October 4, 2026. The event combines a large static display with live appearances by voice actors to promote the franchise.
