Samsung is about to enhance the Privacy Display capabilities of the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. This is an important development for those who will need to access sensitive information in busy public areas without sacrificing privacy. Specifically, Samsung is looking to substantially enhance screen brightness levels while still applying privacy filters. We've been following the Galaxy S27 Pro quite closely and think this is a useful solution to an issue many users may face.

Samsung plans to boost screen brightness while keeping privacy filters on Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra

Here, we are focusing on the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra models. With the current iteration of Privacy Display found in Galaxy S26 Ultra models, the brightness and contrast are lowered to obscure content at side angles. For example, the current Privacy Display may go from 1,000 nits brightness to 636 nits. This, of course, diminishes readability in normal lighting.

The latest from SamMobile suggests that the next-gen Privacy Display solution will be better. Specifically, they are looking to leave the privacy filters in place but give users a brighter and more readable experience. We think this is a very solid solution to the key issue people face with the current gen Privacy Display. This will likely be a big selling point for traveling professionals.

Interestingly, this functionality will not be present on the Galaxy S27 and S27+ models. It goes against previous rumors about this functionality. Per the report from SamMobile, the Privacy Display will not be present on the lower-tier models.

This further differentiates the Pro and Ultra models by premium display features. Consumers should be sure to look for the final specs when it comes to picking the model that suits them.

The brightness boost sounds great for reading emails on the train. Will this feature be locked to the Pro and Ultra models only

Yes. SamMobile reports the standard S27 and S27+ will not have this. It is a premium tier lock.
