SOFTWARE AND UPDATES

is bringing 4.5 to GeForce NOW next month, giving cloud gamers access to significant performance upgrades without needing new hardware. This update matters because it allows subscribers to experience higher frame rates and visual fidelity that previously required expensive local desktop GPUs. The service will support these features in over 100 titles starting next month, following Gamescom 2026.

Cloud gamers get RTX 5080-class performance with new upscaling suite

The GeForce NOW Ultimate tier serves as the primary beneficiary of this software update. Users on this plan will receive RTX 5080-class performance levels during their sessions. This infrastructure change aims to deliver a visual experience comparable to playing on a desktop PC equipped with a dedicated 50 Series GPU. The upgrade leverages NVIDIA G-SYNC support to smooth out the streaming experience.

DLSS 4.5 introduces a second-generation Transformer model that delivers up to 5X the compute power of the original DLSS 4 model. This technology suite includes Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi , and a new Ray Reconstruction feature. NVIDIA claims the DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution Performance preset offers native-like fidelity that is noticeably better than the DLSS 4 Quality preset in certain titles. Streaming resolution supports up to 5K output for compatible displays.

Support will roll out to over 100 games, including upcoming titles such as Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Gears of War: E-Day, and Metro 2039. The exact release date remains unconfirmed, with NVIDIA only specifying a timeline of next month relative to the Gamescom event. We touched on AMD FSR Multi Frame Generation 8X in our earlier Nvidia coverage, providing context for the current competitive landscape in upscaling technologies.

GeForce NOW subscribers can expect immediate access to the full DLSS 4.5 suite once the update deploys globally. The upgrade focuses on enhancing visual quality and performance for existing Ultimate tier users. This software addition confirms NVIDIA's strategy to push advanced rendering techniques into the cloud gaming space.
