Samsung just added more eligible devices for the Android 17 based One UI 9 update. They have confirmed a bunch of Galaxy smartphones and tablets that will receive this update. This is important because the software update rollout is staggered, meaning you're going to get the update at different times, depending on your region. As an example, if you're a Japanese buyer, you will get it a lot sooner compared to the other global markets.

First, the update debuted with the Galaxy S26 series back in September 2026. And now Samsung is confirming that they will also roll out this software update to more flagship and mid-range models in the next few months. This list of confirmed eligible phones includes the Galaxy S23, S24, S25, S26 series. But also, the Z Fold and Z Flip, starting from generation 5 all the way to 7.

  • OS Version: Android 17-based One UI 9
  • Japan Rollout Window: October and November 2026
  • Global Rollout Window: December 2026 and January 2027

Also, Samsung is also bringing it to tablets. Eligible tablets include Galaxy Tab S9 – S11, Tab A11, and Tab S6 Lite (2024). According to the source, the list of eligible devices is not the final one. They are currently missing some variants for the S25 and S24 models.

Of course, everything is region dependent when it comes to the timeline. The first region is Japan where you'll get the update in October and November 2026. For budget models and non-Japanese sold units, expect the One UI 9 between December 2026 – January 2027.

It's also a similar story when it comes to balance and stability. Remember, we talked about this last time when it came to the Galaxy phones and tablets update.

So Samsung has confirmed the exact device models and the regional timeline windows for the Android 17 based One UI 9 update. The software update is now officially set to arrive for a wide variety of Galaxy devices. So if you have any specific model, make sure you cross-check with the confirmed list and see when you can expect your update window.
