Cold Symmetry released patch 1.000.010 for Mortal Shell 2 on September 14, addressing a wide range of gameplay and stability issues. This update matters to players because it resolves exploits that could disrupt progression and fixes bugs that trapped users in specific game states. The patch is available now on consoles and PC, ensuring all players can access the corrections immediately.

Cold Symmetry release resolves progression traps and balance issues

The update targets core mechanics involving Shells, Items, and Stones, which are central to the game's combat and traversal systems. Cold Symmetry fixed issues that caused Proxima to get stuck in the Biosampler animation and resolved Lazlo’s Temperament perk infinite glitch. These changes restore intended functionality to key character abilities and perks that players rely on during encounters.

Items and Stones received significant attention, with fixes for durability issues and exploit prevention. Mether’s Severance can now be used at Genessa trainer, and The Colossus Stone’s ability can now be canceled mid-execution. The patch also addressed Egon’s Stone Gloom exploit and fixed dungeons not loading correctly after using Egon’s Stone.

Enemy and boss behaviors were corrected to prevent unfair advantages or soft-locks. The update fixed Hexapod diving attack occurring after death and several issues with enemies and bosses when being frozen. It also resolved the issue that allowed players to leave the Twin Sester fight after she spawns and fixed Starved Harridan getting stuck and dying.

We looked at the last Mortal Shell 2 update earlier while tracking Cold Symmetry releases, and several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The patch includes fixes for Zhirelle not interacting with the player in NG+, multiple Muttons spawning in the hub, and issues with Genessa’s dialogue and training tutorials. Environmental fixes address the Citadel Annex traversal camera issue and death volumes in the Ashen Cathedral biome.

The final section of the patch notes emphasizes crash and game stability improvements alongside specific world fixes. Cold Symmetry fixed issues with burn and stasis environmental hazards not using correct values and several collision and geometry issues. An issue that could trap players in the dungeon after claiming Lazlo was also resolved, ensuring smoother progression through the game's environments.
