Those of you eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Elder Scrolls series might have a better idea of what's coming. According to a new report, the highly anticipated sixth mainline installment is expected to have the subtitle Sentinel. It's a potential naming scheme that will give fans a better idea of how the project is coming along as we approach a big anniversary for the franchise.
Report cites sources familiar with Bethesda plans for the upcoming title
The info is coming to us from The Verge via Tom Warren who quotes sources with knowledge of the internal plans at Bethesda Softworks. The developers at the studio have been demoing gameplay footage for the game to partners and press over the past few months. It's an indication that the studio is nearing the end of the development process on this title.
To back up the subtitle claim, it was pointed out that back in August Xbox CEO Asha Sharma made a social media post that featured eight asterisks in a row. The number of asterisks aligns with the nine letter length of the subtitle Sentinel. It's an interesting subtle clue that lines up with the info presented in the recent report surrounding the game's official title.
We could get confirmation of the subtitle as early as November. It would line up nicely with the 15th anniversary celebration of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Keep your eyes peeled for an official word from Bethesda around that time to learn more.

Sentinel fits the letter count. The Verge report is consistent with previous leaks.
