Minecraft players on Bedrock edition cannot log in as authentication servers went down on June 3 around 12 am PDT. The outage also affects the Realms multiplayer system for both Bedrock and Java editions, returning Error 502. Java edition single-player remains accessible, but Bedrock users are locked out entirely.
Bedrock edition login failure
The issue stems from Mojang's authentication servers, which verify player accounts before granting access. Bedrock edition relies on these servers for login, while Java edition uses a separate system that still works for single-player. Realms, the hosted multiplayer service, is down across both editions.
Players attempting to connect see one of two error messages: "Oh no! Something went wrong, and we couldn't connect to the Minecraft services" or "We were unable to verify what products you own. Please check your internet connection." These messages indicate a failure in product ownership verification, not a network issue on the player's side.
Error messages and workarounds
This outage follows a similar disruption on June 1, which was caused by a Microsoft Azure problem. The recurrence points to persistent instability in the authentication infrastructure. Mojang has not yet provided an estimated time for restoration.
The outage affects many players globally, especially Bedrock edition users who cannot access any game mode. Java players can still play single-player but lose access to Realms. The timing is notable as the outage occurs on a weekday, disrupting evening gaming sessions across many time zones.
As of now, the only confirmed workaround is for Java players to stick to single-player mode. Bedrock players must wait for Mojang to resolve the server issue. The company has not issued a public statement beyond the error messages displayed in the launcher.
