The project is titled Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos and serves as a direct follow-up to the 2025 release of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. Jez San stated that the sequel was always part of the studio's long-term plan. The team built the new version on a different engine than the original game, which created unique remastering challenges. They validated their technical approach early to ensure a smooth development process.
The remaster will launch globally in the fourth quarter of 2026. It will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. The update includes enhanced visuals to match modern display standards. Players can also access a new Croc2pedia mode for additional game information.
San expressed pleasure at seeing the next chapter in the series reach modern platforms. He noted that he cannot wait for longtime fans and new players to experience the game in high definition. The release window gives the team time to refine the quality of life improvements. This remaster completes the modernization of the original two-game series.
