The 2x speed option is the only reason to buy this. The original was a slog.

Is the $9.99 upgrade worth it if I have the 4K HD version or does it just add the speed toggle?

It adds the 2x speed and the decimation filter. The texture upscales are nice but the speed is the key feature.
