Overwatch 2 Update 4.40 is now live from Blizzard Entertainment, as of November 3.

Blizzard buffs Junker Queen and Mauga while reducing Winston healing and Ana damage

Update 4.40 also kicks off the Taking Reign event, active until December 7. In-game cosmetics will be available for those participating in the event.

Update 4.40 (build 1.000.105) includes a big buff for Junker Queen, boosting base health from 375 to 425, and cooldown on Carnage is down from 9 to 7 seconds. Mauga will have much more durability with base armor now at 150 up from 125. Burning damage is up from 15 to 20.

These upgrades to tanks are only a part of the changes players will see in the update. Ramattra and Winston are seeing more targeted updates to resources, and healing output.

Specific hero tweaks include Winston Revitalizing Barrier healing reduced from 35 to 30 per second. Ana Biotic Grenade explosion damage is down to 60 from 90. Echo will now reload ammo with Aerial Munitions.

Emre Cyber Frag is down from 0.6 seconds detonation time to 0.5. The update also focuses on combatting gameplay sabotage with better tools to detect and Thank You messages for players who report such bad behavior.

Some of the changes in Stadium mode include, but are not limited to, Winston Tesla Field damage now down to 30 from 40 per second. Cassidy Barrage Blastin damage reduction up from 60% to 50%. Genji Wyrm Maw Swift Strike damage per stack up to 15% from 10%.

Vendetta Apex Bloodlust lifesteal down from 4% to 3%. There are bug fixes for D. Mono, Mizuki, Sombra, and Wrecking Ball that should make for a better game experience.

Junker Queen is finally tanky enough to not melt in one hit. This is the buff she needed.

the carnage cooldown drop is insane tbh. 7 seconds? 😂

Is Ana really getting nerfed that hard? 60 damage on the grenade seems way too weak for a healer.

Yes. The math supports it. You trade burst for consistency. It is a deliberate shift in the meta.

mauga getting armor is just going to make him a wall again. i hope they fix the movement speed next patch 😅

Winston healing is down but his barrier is still up. The net gain is small. It is not a massive nerf.

i am just happy about the anti-sabotage tools. the game is unplayable when people feed intentionally.

reducing echo reload speed with aerial munitions is a hidden nerf. it changes the rotation entirely.
