MediaTek announces the Dimensity 7500 chipset featuring an octa-core CPU, NPU 850 for double AI performance, and advanced gaming tech for mid-range smartphones.

MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 7500, a new smartphone chipset designed to bridge performance and efficiency for mainstream devices. The chip builds on recent advancements in mobile processing by integrating next-generation CPU cores with enhanced AI capabilities. This release targets mid-range smartphones that require balanced power for everyday tasks and gaming.

Octa-core processor integrates next-generation AI capabilities for mainstream devices

The processor features an octa-core configuration built on Armv9.3-A architecture, combining four high-performance C1 Pro cores running at 2.6GHz with four efficiency-focused C1 Nano cores clocked at 2.0GHz. This setup aims to deliver strong single-thread performance while maintaining power savings during light workloads.

  • Process Node: 4nm
  • CPU Architecture: Octa-core Armv9.3-A (4x C1 Pro @ 2.6GHz, 4x C1 Nano @ 2.0GHz)
  • NPU: NPU 850
  • Gaming Tech: HyperEngine, Adaptive Gaming Technology 4.0
  • Display Support: Up to 1344 x 2800 @ 144Hz (secondary up to 120Hz)

Graphics and display capabilities include support for resolutions up to 1344 x 2800 at 144Hz, with secondary displays capable of running at 120Hz. The chipset also accommodates camera sensors up to 200 megapixels, processed by the Imagiq 1050 ISP. Connectivity options cover Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 3GPP Release 17 5G modem with theoretical download speeds reaching 5.2Gbps.

MediaTek claims the Dimensity 7500 delivers more than twice the AI performance of its predecessor through the new NPU 850. Gaming features include HyperEngine technology and Adaptive Gaming Technology 4.0, which optimize frame rates and reduce input lag. The company also reports improved 5G signal recovery in challenging environments like subways and high-speed trains.

Reports indicate that the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will be among the first devices to use this chip, though this has not been officially confirmed by Xiaomi or MediaTek. No pricing details have been released yet for either the chipset or potential device models using it.
