SOFTWARE AND UPDATES

Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH has released version 9.2 of its Proxmox Virtual Environment platform. This update introduces a dynamic load balancer designed to optimize cluster resource usage and improve workload distribution across nodes. The software now defaults to the kernel 7.0 and is built on Debian 13.5 "Trixie".

The release expands software-defined networking capabilities by adding native support for WireGuard and BGP as fabric protocols. Administrators can manage custom CPU models directly through the web interface under the Datacenter section to tailor virtual machine performance. A new high availability arm and disarm feature allows temporary suspension of the HA stack during maintenance windows.

Proxmox Virtual Environment 9.2 includes updated core components such as QEMU 11.0, LXC 7.0, and ZFS 2.4. Ceph Tentacle 20.2.1 serves as the new default stable storage release while Ceph Squid 19.2.3 remains available for specific use cases. The platform also supports enrollment of Microsoft and Windows UEFI 2023 certificates through its graphical interface and API.

The software is immediately available for download from the official Proxmox website as open-source code. Users can perform distribution upgrades using standard APT package management or install the system on top of an existing Debian installation. Enterprise support contracts start at EUR 120 per year per CPU.
