Quarkos has released version 26.04 of its Linux distribution, which builds upon Ubuntu 26.04 LTS codenamed Resolute Raccoon.
Stable distribution ships with five-year support window and Trinity edition coming soon
The stable release ships with KDE Plasma 6.6 as the default desktop environment and includes a suite of preinstalled applications alongside Q4OS tools.
An edition featuring Trinity Desktop Environment 14.1.6 will arrive soon, though the latest available ISO currently supports only the 24.04 update.
Users can download the KDE Plasma version directly from Sourceforge for global access without any listed pricing or regional restrictions.
The distribution package measures 2.5 GB and runs on glibc 2.43 with Firefox 151.0, GRUB 2.14, Bash 5.3, APT 3.2.0, and X.Org Server 21.1.22.
Quarkos commits to a minimum of five years of support for this release, although rumors suggest the maintenance window could extend to ten years.
The vendor has not confirmed the exact launch date or whether the Trinity edition will match the support timeline of the KDE Plasma variant.
