AdHoc Studio is porting their award-winning tactical shooter to mobile devices, so you can now go fight international evil while on the train or chilling on the couch. They've dropped a new trailer this week showing off what it'll look like on a smartphone. Stressing that the core experience is still there, just on a smaller screen.
AdHoc Studio brings BAFTA-winning tactical shooter to mobile with one-handed controls
Why is this mobile port important? It just means more people can play it! This is the game that critics lauded for its tight, one-handed gameplay ethos.
Here's the release info for Dispatch on mobile. It'll come out on both Android and iOS. Release date: December 9, 2026.
It follows up on the original game that launched on PC and PS5 on October 22, 2025. The original game took home three BAFTA awards in 2026. So, there's a high bar for the mobile version to match.
You'll get to experience the tactical gameplay that was so good on console. Except now, it'll be optimized for portrait mode controls.
Specifically, AdHoc Studio has built a mobile UI that's made for playing with one hand. You'll be able to control your squad without needing two hands (or a controller). Gameplay is still episodic though.
So, the first 4 episodes are free for you to dip your toes into. That gives you a pretty good taste of what's in store with the free version.
Pricing for the full game is $19.99 everywhere. In Russia it's 1,790₽ which is currently about $21.99 (based on the rates used for displaying) This is great because it means more people can get in on that premium experience. It's still the quality you'd expect from an award-winning title like the original on PC/PS5.
The release date is locked in for December 9, 2026. Giving them a bit of time to tune the mobile port.
Recall, we covered the last Dispatch update which brought 16 hours of commentary and a Storyboard mode for the 1-year anniversary of the game. That update speaks to their focus on balancing and stability. I imagine those are still big factors in the development of this mobile port.
They'll bring that enhanced gameplay to the mobile version. So, right out the gate, you're getting a nice polished experience.

The one-handed portrait UI sounds like a genuine design challenge rather than a port compromise. I will be watching the frame pacing closely.
Is the 19.99 price point standard for a full BAFTA-winning title on mobile or is that steep for a port
It is steep. Most mobile tactical shooters are free to play with heavy monetization. Paying 20 dollars upfront is a high bar for a mobile release.
december 2026 is way too far away tbh 🤔
Will the four free episodes cover the entire first arc or just the tutorial section of the campaign
