Wave Launcher 1.0.4 was just released on October 28th. The release brings more stability and new features to the Android TV experience. This update fixes longstanding problems launching games and managing the library for a better experience for handheld gamers. These changes make the experience more consistent for everyday Android TV use.
New emulator support and stability fixes for handheld gamers
A new emulator was added to the software for PSP games – PPSSPP VR. Also added iiDB for game information and two new fonts – Console Sans and Console Square. A new option to use Playstation (Swapped) controller layout gives you more flexibility to map controls.
The software has a new option to turn off the onscreen touch controller. Priority settings for keyboards were also added. All the controller and keyboard settings have been consolidated for easier use. Also added platform icons for ChaiLove, CPS1-3, Daphne, FBNeo, Linux, Lutro, Sega Model 3, Quake, and TurboGrafx-CD.
Lots of bugs were squashed, including problems updating libraries, artwork scraping, emulator compatibility, etc. Vita3K and DraStic launchings now work better. Improved stability on Android games launching. Launch faster during startup.
Android TV was optimized with a new banner/icon. Fixed label spacing, scrolling, fading, and focus in the launcher. Scraper searches work better now. Fixed RetroAchievements refresh failure issues.

PPSSPP VR is the only feature worth caring about here. The rest is just cleanup.
Does the Vita3K fix actually resolve the black screen issue or is it just faster crashing?
It resolves the launch failure on Android 14. The emulator still renders slowly on older hardware. This is expected for Vita emulation.
finally got rid of the touch overlay for d-pad work 👀
The iiDB backend is stable. It pulls metadata faster than the previous scraper. The font rendering for long titles is also improved.
The keyboard priority settings are useless if the system still prioritizes touch input on accidental palm rests.
I have been waiting for the library scraping fixes. My artwork collection was a mess before this update. Is the iiDB integration stable now?
Consolidating controller and keyboard settings is a good move. Navigation is less cluttered now.
the swapped playstation layout is a lifesaver for left handed thumbsticks 🤔
This update makes the handheld experience much smoother. Great work on the stability fixes. How is the battery drain when using the new VR mode?
VR mode drains battery faster. The extra rendering load is significant. Use external power for long sessions.
