Oppo Reno 17 5G and Reno 17F 5G clear Thai certification, signaling a global launch by December 2026. The Reno 17 is rumored to feature a 7,000mAh battery.

Oppo, the well-known manufacturer, has been moving ahead with the approvals for its upcoming Reno 17 and Reno 17F smartphones. Reno 17 and Reno 17F got all necessary approvals in some Asian countries. It clearly suggests that these phones are set to be available in the global market soon. So, those of you who want long-lasting battery life and want to get their hands on the latest processing, get ready for the announcement.

Reno 17F and Reno 17 5G clear Thai certification ahead of December release

Two phones have different model numbers, which clearly shows there will be a difference in the specifications of the smartphones. The standard Reno 17 5G comes with the model identifier CPH2975. On the other hand, the Reno 17F 5G comes with the model identifier CPH3013.

Specifications

  • Model Number (Reno 17F): CPH3013
  • Model Number (Reno 17): CPH2975
  • Display (Reno 17F): 6.57-inch OLED
  • RAM (Reno 17F): 12GB
  • Storage (Reno 17F): 512GB

Both the phones have already been approved by India and Indonesia. They are now approved by the Thai authorities.

In terms of the screen, the Reno 17F comes with a 6.57-inch OLED display. The device will be available with 12GB RAM. In addition to that, it has 512GB internal storage.

Regarding the performance, the standard Reno 17 5G is rumoured to be equipped with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. When it comes to photography, there will be a 50MP triple-camera setup.

It is rumoured that Reno 17 will have around 7000mAh battery. This battery size is significantly larger than regular flagship models. Oppo's Reno 17 is expected to come with ColorOS 17. Interestingly, the exact chipset and camera info is missing from the reports in the case of the Reno 17F.

Oppo is planning to bring both the smartphones in the Chinese market by the end of November 2026. Most probably, we are expecting these phones to arrive in the global market by the end of December 2026 or January 2027. The company has not yet revealed the prices of the devices in any region.

A 7000mAh battery is massive for a slim phone. Will the weight make it uncomfortable for long gaming sessions?

The specs look suspicious. That chipset is mid range but the battery is flagship level. It feels unbalanced.
