Nvidia has launched Game Ready Driver 621.01 on October 21. It introduced major memory optimization for PC gamers. The new driver makes supported games use 7 – 8GB less memory at boot time.
New driver uses Advanced Shader Delivery to lower memory load
This improvement makes playing the game on a machine with less memory smoother. It's an important improvement because it stops stutter during the initial loading process for users with RTX graphics cards.
Advanced Shader Delivery technology (originally by Microsoft) is added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day. This technology pre-compiles shaders to reduce CPU and memory load at game boot. Nvidia's Game Ready Driver 621.01 brings this support. This technology makes your memory consumption drop immediately when launching games (if you play them with RTX hardware).
Advanced Shader Delivery technology pre-compiles shader code to relieve the burden on your system resources at the boot stage. Nvidia has confirmed the version and release date of this driver in their official statement. Sebastian Castellanos (journalist) revealed on social media that this new driver drops memory consumption dramatically.
We have tested AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 26.9.2 adds earlier when following Nvidia releases. It has also got support for those games.
Nvidia has confirmed that driver 621.01 is released. It has optimized two major shooter games. Game Ready Driver 621.01 offers a noticeable drop of 7-8GB RAM consumption at boot for RTX users.
Make sure your game can be found in the Xbox PC App to get this feature. Reddit has got reports from some users that Gears of War: E-Day has performance drops. They are likely related to the recent Windows updates/game patches, not the driver.
