Final Fantasy VI creator Hironobu Sakaguchi praised a fan-made AI remake video of the game on May 19. The AI video, posted by user @milkcho35495684 on May 17, went viral with over 600,000 views in 24 hours. Sakaguchi clarified he saw potential in the AI technology but acknowledged the current output is not ready for production.

SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu criticized Sakaguchi's praise, urging him to stop supporting AI-generated game content. Kawazu replied directly to Sakaguchi with the message, No, Sakaguchi-san, please stop at the first line. Sakaguchi further defended his stance by sharing AI-generated artwork from his own game, Lost Odyssey.

Sakaguchi described his reaction to the AI video as intuitive sensing of potential rather than endorsement of the current work.
