GTA VI introduces a permanent point of no return in its new honor system, locking Jason and Lucia into a specific evil path based on player choices.

Rockstar Games is adding a permanent point of no return to Grand Theft Auto VI. This change forces players to decide if their actions have lasting consequences. The update introduces a criminal profile system that tracks reputation. Players must now consider the long-term impact of their choices.

New criminal profile tracks reputation with permanent consequences

The criminal profile features five distinct levels. These levels are Professional, Aggressive, Violent, Psycho, and an unnamed fifth state. Reaching the fifth state locks the character into that evil path permanently. Jason and Lucia maintain separate profiles that track their individual actions.

Rob Nelson, co-head of development, emphasized player freedom in this system. He stated that there is no right or wrong way to play the game. Nelson explained that the system adds more choice rather than restricting behavior. Players can still cause chaos if they prefer that style of play.

The game allows players to maintain a specific profile state if they wish. Users can also deactivate notifications about profile changes to reduce clutter. This flexibility ensures the core GTA experience remains intact. The system changes how people engage with the game world.
