released driver version 610.88 to stabilize its latest RTX 50 Series GPUs and support new game releases. This update matters because it resolves critical crashes that previously prevented players from accessing Halo: Campaign Evolved on the newest hardware. Users relying on RTX 50 Series cards for modern titles now have a certified path forward without encountering immediate software failures.

NVIDIA released driver version 610.88 to stabilize its latest RTX 50 Series GPUs and support new game releases.

New WHQL update stabilizes RTX 50 Series hardware for Halo and Path of Exile 2

The new WHQL-certified driver adds game-ready support for Halo: Campaign Evolved and the Gears of War: E-Day Beta. It targets users who need stable performance on RTX 50 Series GPUs, which were experiencing specific crash issues in previous releases. The certification ensures the driver meets Microsoft's stability standards for general distribution.

  • Driver Version: 610.88
  • Driver Type: WHQL
  • Known Issue: Enabling 'Prefer Maximum Performance' may not be applied correctly

NVIDIA addressed several key stability issues in this release. The patch fixes game crashes in Halo: Campaign Evolved on RTX 50 Series GPUs. It also resolves intermittent long pauses in Path of Exile 2 when running in DX12 mode. Silent Hill F receives general gaming stability improvements. The update improves frame pacing in certain DX11 games when Smooth Motion is used with G-SYNC enabled.

The driver fixes application-specific crashes and visual issues. Strange Brigade and Zombie Army 4 no longer crash when exiting if the NVIDIA App In-Game Overlay is enabled. RTX Dynamic Vibrance now applies correctly to Wallpaper Engine. Paint.NET no longer crashes during launch when NVIDIA Surround is enabled. However, the 'Prefer Maximum Performance' setting may not apply correctly, which is a known issue listed in the patch notes.

This release does not resolve the crashing issues for Battlefield 6 Season 4 on RTX 50 series. We looked at NVIDIA Hotfix Driver 610.82 Fixes Halo in our earlier Nvidia coverage. The current driver focuses on stabilizing the RTX 50 Series and new game support rather than fixing older unresolved bugs.

NVIDIA GeForce driver 610.88 is now available for download. It provides essential fixes for RTX 50 Series users and supports the latest game launches. The driver remains the recommended update for users experiencing the specific crashes mentioned in the patch notes.
