Ubisoft shipped a hotfix for Rainbow Six Siege on July 23 that restores a previously restricted operator and patches several gameplay blockers. Players who have been frustrated by matchmaking errors or specific map detection bugs can now play without those interruptions. This update addresses immediate stability issues that were disrupting competitive and casual matches alike.

Patch 3.44 restores operator and resolves gameplay blockers
The patch, identified as version 3.44/1.000.149, brings the operator Rook back into the game. The patch notes explicitly state that Rook is enabled with today’s hotfix, reversing earlier restrictions on the character. This change allows teams to utilize Rook’s armor distribution ability once again in all modes.
The update resolves three specific technical issues that hindered gameplay. A griefing bug that caused players to become stuck when picking up Rook’s Armor has been fixed. Developers also corrected a detection flaw where defenders were not visible outside in the EXT garage area of the Vila map. Additionally, the matchmaking system no longer incorrectly defaults or sticks players in the PC & Console pool.
We looked at the last Rainbow Six Siege update earlier while tracking balance changes, and several of the same stability themes came up in this release. The focus remains on fixing broken interactions and ensuring fair play conditions across all platforms. Players should see smoother matches and restored operator variety starting now.
