Vivo is getting set to grow its tablet offering with the Vivo Pad FE, the upcoming device has just appeared in regulatory databases giving the impression that a global debut is on the horizon. This is a notable change for the company whose tablets have previously been largely reserved for the Chinese market. For anyone outside of Asia interested in the Vivo tablets, keep your eyes peeled for more information about a potential launch. The regulatory information clearly shows the device is close to a launch-ready stage.
Certification reveals Wi-Fi-only connectivity and 15W charging limits
The forthcoming tablet, which bears the model number VP2601, has made its way into the UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) database. In the process, the VP2601 has been specifically labeled as a Wi-Fi-only device in the certification documents. This means that, at least for this version of the tablet, there will be no cellular connectivity. This is quite typical for low-end tablets aimed at prioritizing affordability over the provision of mobile data.
- Model Number: VP2601
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi-only
- Charging: 15W wired
The specs are quite light on the ground at this point, but we do have some interesting info on the charging side of things thanks to the certification from TÜV Rheinland Japan. The Vivo Pad FE is listed with a certification from TÜV Rheinland Japan and the note there is that the tablet is capable of 15W wired charging. The slower charging speed could be a sign of a smaller battery or a smaller emphasis on portability and thermal efficiency.
It's highly likely that this upcoming Vivo Pad FE could be a rebranded variant of the Vivo Pad SE, which launched in China in April 2025. The Pad SE comes with a 12.3-inch LCD screen, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, and an 8,500mAh battery. At this point there's no official confirmation that the two tablets are related, but the timing and naming are quite suggestive that it's likely to be a hardware reuse for the global market.
