Sony is now really securing PS5, so.. We have to choose: stay on hacked firmware and goodbye online games or update and say goodbye to hacks. So this is the end of this period of time, when hacked consoles could easily log in to PSN and not be detected and banned.

Sony patches PS5 firmware vulnerabilities, forcing hacked consoles to choose between jailbreak and PSN access
What's the problem? Sony is now covering some vulnerabilities in the recent PS5 firmware versions. These patches affect directly exploit chains to run hacked/custom firmware.
After update, custom firmware cannot use paths to circumvent "official barriers". In other words, it's a point of no return for hacked consoles, you have to choose how you will see your hacked console.
All information about hacks is stored in BIOS level of console. Factory reset doesn't solve this problem. So if someone tries to remove all info by resetting settings, he will notice that all hack data stays even after reset. So, in order to get it all clean and hacked-free, you have to flash the last Sony official firmware.
By the way, Sony didn't announce massive hardware bans of consoles with known exploits. So far, it seems to be only software restrictions (access to network). But if you don't want to update system software, be ready to lose PSN.
