Lenovo now has Chromebook m 15 Gen 10 available in the US, Canada, and Japan again. This can be an interesting purchase if you are looking for a bigger screen for general usage. The return of the Chromebook m 15 is notable as this model has 15" screen size and decent battery life at a more attractive price compared to many mainstream 15" laptops.

Lenovo brings back the budget 15-inch Chromebook m 15 Gen 10 with a MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor and 16-hour battery life for around $520

This Chromebook is a nice solution for students or workers on the road who need bigger screen than what is usually provided by budget ultrabooks. Chromebook m 15 uses MediaTek Kompanio 540 and has a 50Wh battery that can last up to 16 hours (according to Google Power Load Test).

Specifications

  • Processor: MediaTek Kompanio 540
  • Display: 15-inch 1200p IPS, 60 Hz, 400 nits, 45% NTSC, 1200:1 contrast
  • Battery: 50 Wh
  • Battery Life: 16 hours
  • Charging: Up to 65 W

The Chromebook m 15 Gen 10 features 15" IPS screen with 1200p resolution and 400 nits peak brightness. It's a pretty good screen choice that allows 60Hz refresh rate and has a 45% NTSC color gamut. This is good enough for general usage and media consumption.

Along with this screen, Lenovo is using a MediaTek Kompanio 540 chipset for low power consumption yet a decent performance in browsing, office applications etc. The laptop can have up to 8GB soldered LPDDR5X-6400 RAM and storage can range from 64GB up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage.

This is a budget device but it can still have a decent battery life. Lenovo promises a 16 hours usage (in standard tests). The 50Wh battery can be fast-charged at up to 65W.

This way you can quickly refill the battery between school/work hours. It comes with standard USB-C/A ports for accessories access. These are standard options for a Chromebook in this range. The laptop runs on ChromeOS which makes it easier to update/maintain security for the users looking for a simple computing solution.

The Chromebook m 15 Gen 10 starts at $519.99 USD (in the US) and CAD 719.99 (in Canada). In Japan it's starting from 81180 JPY (around $517). Lenovo says this is a discount price as original (claimed) MSRP is 108680 JPY (around $693).

Starting prices are $519.99 USD, CAD 719.99 (~$514), and 81180 JPY (~$517). It's a nice mid-range solution with bigger screen than usually on 14" laptops. The availability is confirmed for the US, Canada, and Japan for now. It's out of stock in other regions (according to Lenovo's listing for now).

Lenovo has brought back Chromebook m series to main Western/Asian markets after stock issues. This is a nice model with 15" screen size, 16 hours of battery life, and <$520 price tag that can be a good alternative for many looking to save some money. Keep in mind that availability may vary between different regions (some regions currently show as out of stock).

Chromebook m 15 Gen 10 is a simple yet functional laptop with good battery life and bigger screen size. It's not about raw power.
