Konami shifts strategy to rely on classic IP reboots for future growth
Hideki Hayakawa, president of Konami Digital Entertainment, stated that these reboots are important initiatives that serve as pillars of the business. The company is currently developing new titles including Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse and the console RPG Rev. NOiR. Mobile gamers can also pre-register for Suikoden STAR LEAP, which opens on July 1, 2026.
The studio is also preparing to ship Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2 this week. The upcoming collection acts as a transitional release between the classic era and the planned reboot projects. Konami did not provide specific release dates or titles for the Metal Gear and Suikoden reboots.
