A new Fortnite update just dropped! Update 43.00 from Epic Games has a whole new outlook on how to go about playing and fighting in the new 'Treasure Hunters' season. Update 43.00 has done away with the old gold bar system and a new map has been introduced that's going to change the strategic landscape for everyone from casual to competitive ranked players. A massive change in direction that's placing a big emphasis on player adaptability and away from gathering resources.

Epic Games vaults gold bars and adds One Piece abilities

Epic Games has moved towards an 80 player map with the new 'Crossbones Isle' to be the basis of this update. New locations like Windmill Village and Arlong Park highlight this new space. This will be the setting for the collaboration with One Piece where A$AP Rocky is a Boss and new things like the Gum-Gum Fruit and Zoro's Three Sword Style can be used. The new map layout allows for a more fast paced and character-focused experience that's the cornerstone of this new season.

Important mechanical adjustments like the Vaulting of Gold Bars and removal of Vending Machines streamlines inventory management and removes the Follower service paywall. Refillable chests give a steady stream of loot and the Golden Apple that offers 40 Effective Health keeps you in the fight longer. Removing economic complexity and focusing on mechanical combat.

New icons have been introduced for the rewards of Ranked Season. The Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, and Unreal ranks are easily identified with a unique icon so competitive players can see their accomplishments in a new light. This update has also got PC performance, mobile stabilization and cosmetic clipping fixes in place to clean up the tech side. Ensuring the new gameplay features run smoothly on different configurations.

The new update is an entirely new outlook on the economy in-game. The new standard for the season. A much more fast paced map focused and combat centered play experience. With no longer paying for Follower services and a new map structure being implemented as the new norm.

Vaulting gold bars is a relief. The economy was too complex. 80 players on Crossbones Isle makes sense for the One Piece collab. Fast pacing is the new standard.
